I'll be there in the Classic K race in my Grantura. Racing colleague Jon Wolfe will be in Swinging '60s in his V8 Tuscan.
Is it all mended Dave? assume just a wishbone bracket and a tad of welding? Plus the ubiquitous bonnet repairs?N.
Thanks for asking.

1'th Hill-climb of the season, in Denmark tomorrow. The M is partly ready and the new engine have done aprox 3 hours / 60 miles of driving. So it will be a soft start. But the new brake and steering setup is promising, so it will be fun to test it out.

Good luck. My report & vid this weekend.Report to follow...

The day went ok for a change qualified 27 out of 43. 4th in class there was hope for at least a trophy.
The brakes were getting worse though the race and after lap 4 I had to pump the pedal.
There was a oil leak from the oil pump. Oil on the back tyres does not help.
Finish 22nd 4th in class. Will get better so looking forward to Silverstone.

Then I had more luck.
Even that I had to be friendly on the engine, with a low rev.limiter setting and very conservative ignition advance and knock setting, detuning the engine to around 200 hp.
The track was horrible and very technical. Bumpy, down hill braking, narrow cone section, 2 tricky bridges and a very stony surface.
2'nd in class in first pratice session, beaten by 5 sec. But 1'th in second session. Ready for race, and bang, 3 run's fastest of all 60 cars in each of the 3 sprints. total time 2.51, 2'nd place for a saab turbo rally car at 2.55, 3th for a BDA escort 2.56
So that was ok for a soft running-in day :-) what will happen when the engine get full power ?
And I'm very pleased with the brake and chassis modification and setup I have now. The brakes have a very nice feel (high pedal pressure, but controllable) and the combination of -2.5 deg front and -2 deg rear camber, together with the steering quickner make it a gocart around the cones. The front and reat toe is set at 0 deg rear 0.5 deg toe in front, and it make the car very quick on entry and as soon I get of the brake do the front take control, and the rear is drifting very nicely thou the S sections.
The bad news on the day, was a girl in a 205 gti rally, that got one of the concrete bridges 6" wrong, the car war parted into 3 pieces, tumbled and went into flames, but the driver was ok.

All the classic car's are racing at Jyllandsringen this weekend. I qualified 1'th (with a little luck), and ended 2'nd in the first race (2 round track sprint). And rally'ing on a racetrack is not as easy as it might sound. We have to do a 4600m sprint on cold tires, and the thack is feeling like covered with soap, but at least the TVR can do some crowd pleasing with the backend beeing all over the place :-)
I'm adjusting a bit on the camber tonight (going fron -3 front, -2 rear to -2 front. -1.5 rear) and giving it a bit more ride hight and damping on the rear.... we had only one practise session today (and one race), tommorow no practise, only one race. So it's a bit of guesswork to get it right.
And I'm not happy to admit, that I'm behind a vauxhall ascona B, and beating a fiat uno and a x/9 by a couple of seconds. Even mine is the only "sports car" of those, I must admit that those cars perpahs have better drivers :-)
Let's see what happens tomorrow
