well the 3000s that i have just bought has a Piper 270/2 and a 40 DFI carb with inlet manifold to match.
It also has stainless exhaust manifolds and full stainless system.
Engine fully balanced and Acralite pistons.
The question is, what sort of power (bhp) do you think i can expect.
Can someone give me an idea!!

The 40 does not have the dynamic range to be a good road carb ...IMHO of course. The exhaust is likley to be a standard system...so zero gain there. Piper list plus 18 BHP from standard.

the heads have steel seats for unleaded and the rockers are the roller type "Yella Terra".
I imagine the heads have been flowed.
The car once belonged to "Mike Palmer" who was in the TVR Club ond took it to "Le Mans" in 2002, i have a photo of the car on the circuit.

And did Mike Palmer who was in the TVR Car Club in 2002, ran it on unleaded fuel, fitted Yella Terra roller rockers and had his photo taken at Le Mans tell you how big the inlet and exhaust valves were?

I think since the horse meat scandal last year you can no longer have 0.7 of a horsepower in UK anymore bur since OP is French he probably can.

Assuming it's had head work-

I'd guess about 125 to 135 bhp at the wheels top.

i am English from Pompey and just decided to retire in Brittany.
I am sure the 3000S will have enough grunt to show some of my French friends driving Austin Healey 3000 what a true British Sportscar can do ha ha ha.
I will scan the photo from Le Mans and post it soon
