The sunroof on my 3000m is in a sorry state, the upper and lower covers have seen better days, but the main problem being the steel plates inside have rotted and will need replacing .Are the plates readily available ? and if so where from. thanks kevin...

If it's a Webasto try these people. http://www.tudorwebastosunroofs.com/ They had all the parts to fix my mates Webasto on his GT6.

Is THIS the sort of thing you are looking for.

Ready to align with the aperture/holes adhere the rear panel and initial stretch, mark up and tension prior to final fit.

It is by Birmingham's Weathershields, NOT Webasto!

I'm sorry to have thrown a wrench into her sadistic hopes. In life, we have to get our jollies where we can.

Are they still around ? Tudor Webasto offer a sunroof for a Vixen. Would that fit a 3000M ? I need a replacement too. The hole in the roof is 46 x 92.5 cm.

If you can find a good one advertised on e-bay to fit an MGB, same standard width. You can take it to your local trim shop and get it shortened. The problem i found when i was looking for a replacement britax, was that people tend to cut the whole roof off of a rotten MGB and put it on as collection only.
I got a bit back by selling the leftovers, unwanted frame etc. The guy who shortened it for me said he used to supply and them new, fitted for around £20, back in the day.

The bits you can still get new for the Webasto's are nuts money, £300 just for the fromt slam pannel!

No. They were absorbed into Britax, who abandoned all except for their child car safety and stroller products.

On my 1976 3000M i contacted "Littleport Boathaven" and they made a new Cover for me.
I found a supplier of the Leather Cloth and gave "Littleport Boathaven" the reference.
They then got it from supplier and made up the Cover for me.
On my Car the colour is Beige that's why i looked for a supplier of the correct colour and you can ask them for a Sample to check the match.

Hi ,
Adrian has retired but i think he still supplies parts.
You could try to find a MGB sunroof secondhand and they are the same width.
For the sheet metal bars at front and back that rust you can make some easily.
On mine i used some "Rivnuts" on the back which worked out ok.
Maybe "Littleport Boathaven" also have some parts.
I found the most difficult was to attach the Webbing/Ribbons for the correct tension so when closed the sides were nice and tight.
I glued across the back last.
Have fun
Alan
