Vixen 2500 Head Conversion
Discussion
I would think it would be the same as the conversion for the Triumph TR250/5 and TR6, which is what I did on my M. I had mine done with new valve seats, valve guides, and valves, but if I remember correctly the valve seats and exhaust valves are the most important. (The lead cooled the exhaust and prevented the valve from microwelding itself to the iron valve seat). Not sure about Belgium but in the US all the pieces can be ordered from the parts vendors like Victoria British & The Roadster Factory. Can't remember for certain whether Moss Motors sells them but I think they do.
Once you have the pieces you need to have a machine shop install the seats, guides, etc. I think I spent around US$700 on everything but my receipts aren't here and my machine shop was being extra friendly that month (I had my engine work and head work done, plus 2 of my roommates had engines done).

The work needed for a cylinder head conversion is the same, whether the head is knackered or not, so my tuppence worth for what its worth is to run the car on unleaded without any additives until it is knackered, save your pennies and then use the money saved from not using additives to have your cylinder head re-built.
believe me at £3.25 per bottle, it doesn't take too long to have the cost of a new head never mind a head re-build.
You may get a surprise as to how long your existing head lasts. There is no point building a new cylinder head if it isn't broken.
Neil.
