You need to make sure you have a recent version of the JVM libraries installed (there was a thread on this a while back). You can get it from http://java.com/en/index.jsp (upper right corner in the green box).
Hi,
I recently went through the whole fuel smell issue and found that although there were no visible signs of a leaky tank when I removed it completeley the underside was rotten just enough to allow the fuel to seap out and then evaporate the fumes into the car, hope it is not this as they are a bugger to get in and out.
Have you checked the obvious like the gasket around the fuel sender and also the filler neck for poor joint seal ???
