I'm missing one piece of chrome door trim. It's the long piece that sits across the top of the door card. I doubt if our beloved TVR had these made especially for Vixens and wondered if anybody had any ideas which part bin this might have been taken from?

I'm led to believe that they are from a 1.5 Riley, possibly the rear doors. I need one for my drivers door so if anyone knows a source shout up please.

These are available from David Gerald I spoke with Doug Today and they cut them to any length from stock it may make sense to renew all 4 as they may be slightly different from OE I suspect.

Hello,
Clearingbank the garage I found 2 pieces of doortrim.
I was not aware I had them. But found no holes in the doorvaarten.
Does my Tvr Vixen S3 these items?
If SO, in what position?
Any pics for reference?

Hans, presuming my S3 door trim is original (I think it is), then you should only have the long chrome strip extending front to back just below the window line. I don't think the shorter strips were used in the S3 and if they were then they're not in mine.

Thanks Moto.
That's quick.
Even though the automatic corrector messed up my text, you still understood my question.
I do have the strips with lenght of the panel. The pic is mot totally clear for me. It looks as if the strip sits on the edge of the doorpanel. Is that correct?

Hans, it's about an inch below the top edge. Here's another picture but ignore the trim strip on the top as that is not original. I think the rest is.

Thans Moto.
That picture tells the story.

The padding on top is as originally mine. However I have changed that detail. Now I bolt through an alu strip and doorframe. Instead of 3 screws into plugs in the doorframe and 3 plugs for the gapping.

Now I can fit the "juwelary" to the doors to brighten up the interior.

How are the strips mounted to the door card? I have a 1972 tvr vixen s3 with the original door trim/ card and no chrome strip. Maybe they were taken off by a previous owner but there are no mounting holes for the chrome strip...

There are 2 screws which hold the top of the door card to the door. The chrome strip slides over these 2 screw heads.

I believe the screws that held the door card also held the clip that the finishing strip slid over.
The Clips where horrid little things that rusted in no time and a lot where thrown away and the strips lost
