Does anyone know where this TVR is now? I owned it in 1992. I believe it was supplied to the original dealer as a 2500M without an engine and it (and a handful of others) was fitted with a Rover 3500 lump.

I don’t know where it is now (2018) but I was the original owner and built it with the Rover 3500 engine. Want to know full details? Pleas reply.

Amazing thanks for your reply!

Yes I'd love to know as much as possible about the car, its probably the favourite of all I've owned.

In recent years I've discovered that its been living in Spain and is black and no longer sports the fabulous Wolfrace wheels... but still a fab machine smile

So it has, and a quick Google shows lots of other places too.

Glad I owned it when I did

I bought this TVR NYT 100L as a kit from new in 1971. In those days kits meant you did not pay purchase tax. I paid £3500 (its now for sale in Devon for £45000) to a couple of brothers, named Churchill and operating a TVR dealership in north west London (Barnet I think). It was my second TVR, the previous one came with the Ford 3litre engine. I wanted something bigger so did a deal that this one came with a Rover 3.5 v8. It was capable of 140mph but the roof lifted at 135mph! I had a strip of steel built into the roof to keep it solid. I have just seen a picture on pistonheads of the car in my driveway together with my exwife, her vauxhall and my daughter with her bike. Taken in 1971 or 1972. I loved the car (despite its tendancy to overheat) but could not afford to run it. I don’t remember who I sold it to. I would like to know how pistonheads got hold of my photo of the car, maybe my long lost son is a pistonhead member!
If I think of anything else I remember I’ll add it later.

It would have Been Liam Churchill you bought the car from Via the Barnet Motor company which was still owned by Martin Lilley at the time smile

Well you created a fabulous and exciting car! Did you create the subtle flared rear arches, they look as though they've gone now?

I think it was mostly as original when I had it and had just the right feel of its age. But I'll always remember the fairly brutal power and winding the revs up and the noise. Obviously the exhausts had been changed by then but sounded incredible as I think I found that it only had a couple of Renault expansion boxes instead of silencers. But the power matched the noise beautifully smile

As the current owner, I have a couple of queries regarding the original specification which I hope that Morbas can help me with:
1) were the original Wolfrace wheels 14" or 15"?
2) do you know what version of British Racing Green was used? There were over 170 varieties apparently and I've never had access to an original sample. TVRs own factory record just states BRG.
Any info gratefully accepted

I don’t think I can help you with your queries. We’re talking 47 years ago here and I do not remember those sort of details. I really could not say what the wheel size was but I guess British Racing Green was the colour, although there may have been variations of that. Sorry.

I did not do anything with rear flared arches, presumably done after my time. The original exhaust system was a bit of trial and error as it blew off around 120mph! Sounded great but definitely illegal. Subsequent work got it running better, but I don’t remember how we got round the problem.
The only body change made when it was finished off was the raised false airscoop on the bonnet which allowed clearance for the twin carbs I seem to remember. This was fabricated by Liam Churchill’s workshop at Barnet Motors, where I got my TVR’s from.
