Yes i do still own it, any more history would be much appreciated.
The car is indeed featured in Ian Ayre's Muscles and Curves slightly out of period with the rest of the book. For those of you who have this book I did'nt find any helicopter parts in the engine!!!!!

The reason why the rebuild of LGF12K was featured in "Muscle and Curves", which is the history of TVR from 1975-1994 is that originally the rebuild was serialised in a magazine called "Kit Car Builder" (or something similar). But this magazine went bang before the rebuild was finished. I think Iain Ayre was the Editor, certainly he was involved. So a shortened version of the completed rebuild was put into the book.
I should have the 4 or 5 issues somewhere, though couldn't find them when I wanted to lend them to a friend a few years ago.

Hi Tim, Just came across this as I was curious if my old car was still on the road. I owned LGF12K for some time and rebuilt the car from the ground up just about running the rebuilt engine in when I went through a separation and financial crises. The car was left with a friend of mine (Ross McKelvie) who stored it with a view to me one day getting her back on the road. I was concerned that one of the piston rings was scoring a barrel and wanted to take the head off to check. The Mike the Pipe exhaust was needing replacement and the wiring loom (ex Sebring-aircraft loom) was far too complex, so my plan was to replace it. I wanted to race the car, hence the firewall and full harness seatbelts. Unfortunately, life took a turn and I forgot about my old car. I was again in a financial rut and Ross had sold the car as part of the money owed to him for storing it.
I so miss that car and promised myself I'd one day buy another TVR Vixen. Two years ago I suffered a heart attack and this gave me a whole new outlook on our limited time on the planet. I still love working on cars and bikes and plan to continue doing this form of therapy. I'm a photographer by profession and did the article with Iain Ayre while I restored the car. Iain is a very good friend from way back college days to present. He moved to Vancouver a decade ago and I'm now doing work on a Eunos for a magazine that Iain edits and writes for.
I know it's some time now since you placed this, but I'd love to know if the Vixen is still running and what has become of her. It was the car I first saw as a schoolboy fulfilled a dream of owning. I've a feeling I may still have my old logbook buried in paperwork.

How nice to hear from you. The car is currently in storage awaiting quite a bit of work before it would be roadworthy again. The years in storage weren't too kind to it.
You may be able to help me regarding the chassis, the front 30" or so of the main bottom rails have been "cupped" with a section of slightly larger tube on both sides. It doesn't look as if the chassis was rotten in that area so maybe it is repaired accident damage.
