You need a big vice and a socket the same size as the bush to drift them out - I did come up with a way of pulling them out using a long bolt and big washers but it took some sheer strength to wind the bolt up!

As for replacement - For a comfortable ride with a bit more feel replace the four bushes on the inner lower front wishbones with polyurethane ones (mine are the blue ones, these are easy to replace use some waxoyl or grease inside where the bush sits and drift it in with the vice then put the collar in afterwards)

Also it's a good idea to put the poly bushes each side of the rear hub carriers as this makes it easier to remove the lower arms later on.

Leave all the others as the original black ones - as I remember there are about 18 required and they are very cheap. don't forget that you will also need all new locknuts and probably recon/new bolts.

If you fit poly bushes all round it does give a very hard ride which I find makes a car unusable on long journeys.

Hope this helps.

Andy.

Suspension bushes are from TR6, part number 141481. Rimmers have them at £2.25 +vat. They can be a sod to fit, once you've got the old ones out. The ones on the lower rear uprights will be almost impossible to do, unless you have the right equipment. I let my mechanic do mine, he can wield a club hammer with more intent than me as it's not his car

I have a set of the polyurethane bushes that I'll be fitting later this year, I got them from Superflex www.superflex.co.uk

I have poly bushes all round- i think they are OK on long journeys.
Take the oppurtunity to get your wishbones powder coated when they are off- and free up and grease the adjusters on the rear
