Have there been any threads where folks have discussed what their projects are? Or even what their dream TVR project might comprise??

It would be interesting to know who's doing what, whats been successful and what hasnt, just to share the overall experience, whether it be a straight forward restoration, performance mod, or out-n-out racer build?

If you(as I am) are new on here or dont visit regularly it is easy to miss out on whats going on in everyones garages and also miss out on the wealth of experience that surfaces when threads go a bit off subject.

I also find i get a boost to get on with my projects when someone posts up the pics of their project reaching a certain stage, like catfishes rolling chassis for example.

Any thoughts on how this could be done, or is it already done and im missing something??
Regards
Phil.

Hi Phil,
I like the idea but also being new, not sure how best to link it all up.
My project is 1979 3000S rebuild (had her since 1980) but I also have a driveable 1990 S3.
I've got a blog going on the 3000S but it would be good to find a way of swapping stories and ideas here.

I think that most people who are doing things visit here (I would always point people here). The problem revolves around threads (like the arches thread which would not come up within the search) evolving into a real techo thread that leaves people fearful of adding to the 'pot' because it gets technically way beyond their understanding of things. IMHO keep posting here (use the search engine) AND bring us along for the ride, I am pretty sure that even the 'quiet ones' will enjoy the input.

I think it quickly becomes apparent who's doing what, if they post about it. i think there are probably quite a few who lurk but are doing a rebuild.

I am rebuilding a Series 1 Vixen. See my profile for a link

you should put a "how it looks now" picture of Yours to go with that before picture smile

You know what I am up to but will let everyone else know...
1979 Taimar now on your old chassis with ford cosworth BOB engine and T5 gearbox connected to a ford diff of some sort ( probably came with the engine from a scorpio ) will use a DTAfast P80 ecu , if we ever get it going again. Four different sets of wheels , T-slots , the ones in the pictures below and two sets of 17" compomotives, the gold ones in your picture on the trailer and a set of the same as Arthur's 5000m chassis.

Parts stashed away for another day include :-
my orignal rusty chassis and all associated parts taken off of it , engine etc.
a new 3000M chassis and all wishbones (was going to use this on my car but Phil sold me his instead).
a tuscan challenge chassis with most of the wishbones and uprights from ebay.
a complete set of tuscan road car suspension components from ebay.
a good condition BOB engine and other useful bits from a scorpio we stripped down.
three ford MT75 gearboxes that will one day be made into one to fit the BOB engine....or go the the cash for scrap metal place.
an aluminium bellhousing for essex to type 9 gearbox (or so the ebay seller said)

The BOB is the second version of the Cosworth modified Cologne V6. The BOA was the first.

There's obviously a lot of great projects going on. How about a sticky Project Table like the Owners List? This could show Member, Project Description and Status for example. That way we can all see what's going on and if interested can PM the owner.

Could we simply have a list for ongoing projects / hybrids on the "classics owned by" wiki thing? and put up specs / images on our profiles with link to our own blog page if we have one?
Just be nice to be able to find other projects for inspiration and motivation?

There is already a fair bit of flexibility to add stuff to your profile including current cars and website but it needs a project list that's easy to search like the owner's wiki. Maybe Big Al can comment on what can be done along these lines?
