Thanks,
Yes, it looks a lot like a Ford Kent (pre crossflow) with the carbs on the other side, but bigger! They can be bored out to 2,2 litre.
These photos are from 1986 when my car arrived in Sweden (they look older).
Judging by the height of the front I assume that the drivetrain was removed when the photos were taken. During the 90's the car was equipped with a Ford 289 and T10 transmission but as the authorities refused it to become road legal with that configuration it was later converted to Volvo drivetrain.

Nice car but do you not think your PH name should be "1800S SWE"?Yes, it looks a lot like a Ford Kent (pre crossflow) with the carbs on the other side, but bigger! They can be bored out to 2,2 litre.

Thanks Steve,
It could be, or something completely different. But according to both the Swedish and the original UK registration papers it is a TVR Grantura MkIV so that works for me.
But I know all about the 1800S and Grantura name discussion, we don't need to go there....
So if you had a Ford Escort Mk2 you would still call it a Mk1 just because a document said it was. Buying a football doesn't mean you are David Beckham. It could be, or something completely different. Ok listen, this is getting silly.
I have never claimed it to be a Grantura. When a different nick was suggested I simply stated what the registration papers of this particular car actually claims it to be (a Grantura Mk IV). My intention with that was to say that if the authorities in two countries can get the name of the car wrong then it does not matter to me if my nickname is different to the type of car I have posted photos of.
I understand that was not obvious, my wrong.
It is an 1800S and I have never had any intention to make anybody believe differently.
Mr. Reid,
I feel like I have offended you somehow. That was never my intention and I apologise.
Now, can everybody please carry on and post images of early TVRs!

You will have to try a lot harder than that to offend me, you missed my smilies, I can just never understand why people call their car something it isn't. It's a different body, different chassis and different interior. Even has a different bonnet badge. I have never claimed it to be a Grantura.
