... there were so many kit-cars that weren't a 7 clone. Why do so many people go after these?

I was just looking at total kit cars report on stoneleigh and some of the pictures had me almost drooling!

for instance Parallel Designs have some superb looking cars, the K1 Attack is a sublime looking machine and the Aquilla looks great as well.

Nevermind, as a kit-car new-comer I'm thinking the future could hold some interesting developments into the Stefan Garage (once I know how to fiddle with cars that is).

Does anyone know of a kit-car show, or classic-car show up 'north as it were?

I think one of the major reasons is they are cheap.
Another is the simple build not having doors as such makes life a lot easier

You've hit the nail on the head! I'd love to be able to afford a Libra but can't at the moment so make do with my Tiger. Also Se7en's give very good performance for the money.

Went to the show at Stoneleigh just out of interest - this caught my eye

www.edgesportscars.co.uk/

could easily have a car with over 400bhp per tonne with the right engine!

total cost under £7k!

Designed by Robin Hall of BMW Mini and FBS Census fame so should handle well. Will be testing both this and the K1 Attack for PH ASAP.

Now there's a bizarre combination I didn't think I'd ever hear mentioned in the same sentance. One a huge commercial success, the other, ummm, not.
