Hello again. How many people out there are building or have completed a locost as Ron Champions book? How much has been spent on completing the project?
Im studying in glasgow and my car is in the Western Isles so i dont get much chance to work on it. Im hoping to get it finished (or drivable) for this summer, its up and bouncing on its wheels, my engine is purring, and the electrics are near complete.
But i need some help with driver controlls, steering column and pedals mainly.
What can anyone suggest a good simple cheap solution for the pedals?
I have a fiesta steering column, i think i know how to attach to the rack but im wondering how other people have supported the column behind the dash?
Another question, how many locosts in Scotland?

I used a Sierra column on mine, and used the aluminium casting which holds the indicators etc as a support (like it does in the Sierra!). With a hacksaw/belt sander/patience it can be chopped down and shaped into a nice ally cylinder protruding from the dash with the bearing that supports the column. All you need to do is weld in a couple of mounting points under the scuttle to bolt it to and you're away.
