Hope nobody minds me copying a post here but the suspension and brake forum looks a bit empty at the moment.
So does anyone have any experience of 4 pot callipers from AP, Brembo, Hispec and Wilwood.

Mine and most other Ultima use AP.
Is that all you wanted to know?
There's never a tongue in cheek smiley when you want one.

I had some 4-pot Brembos, looked the dogs dangly bits, couldnt afford getting the bells made though. Would've suited the Stratos well (cos they are also Italian, and of course anything you use on a Stratos Replica must be Italian or you are making a fatal faux-pas . Shall I continue? Am I bitter? Who needs that bunch anyway)

Useful eh??

I've got brembo 4 pots on the front of the dax and they're fab

As for sva and the like... brake must be able to be operated by hand on the rear wheels.

calipers designed specifically for the rear facilitate this, if you want to use calipers that don't you can fit separate cable operated "mini" calipers just for the handbrake.

That what you're after???

The Ultima setup uses Brembo cable operated small calipers.

AP yes, on Ultima, GD T70 and MGTF 160. Brembo yes, on Aston DB7 Vantage and Jaguar XKR. Wilwood yes, on Magnum 427SF. Hispec no.

AP and Brembo superb, but can't really comment on Wilwood as they were brand new and needed bedding in.

Any help?

Hi-Spec are very good, I've got the Ultralite 4's on my Rush and they work very well. Use std Sierra calipers on the rear with the built in handbrake mechanism although Hi-Spec also have a 2 ad 4 pot replacement for this too with the handbrake mechanism.

Don't know for certain about SVA, but your parking brake can normally be on the front wheels without a problem (citroen), or as per range rover on the propshaft (note, don't handbrake turn a range rover, it doesn't work).

I believed that it simply needed to be mechanically connected, i.e. not a hydraulic handbrake.

Coments on some other manufacturers ; Bremsport, Aircon? and KAD (spoke at length to a chap at KAD this afternoon, very helpful and definatly knew his brakes inside out, Competitive prices on rotors and bells but only 6 pot caliper range so pricey compared to 4 pots)
