Happy Day It Lives

A quick update on the progress on the spartan.
Tinkering around in the garage with the spartan with the assistance
of my mechanic friend we decide to ignore the text in the haynes
manual and look at the picture instead because when we set the
ignition to letter OF the book the rotor arm didn't actually point to
a position on the dizzy cap. So we decided to ignore the book and
line No1 oposition up with the rotor arm and then set the timing by
turning the dizzy clockwise not as it says in the book anti clockwise.
Once this was done the car coughed and spluttered several times and
eventually fired and came to life.
Oh what a beautiful sound after weeks on and off of trying to get the
thing to run. Even my mechanic friend says it sounds sweet
with no knocking. so the petrol has gone into the tank not over the
top and the matches have gone back in the cupboard.

I can imagine it being one of those Mark Evans "OH YESSSSSS!!!!!!" kind of moments!
Stoneleigh: Original plan was Monday. May now be Sunday, but are taking the out-laws with us (Father-in-law will have a field day, Mother-in-law will be the perfect babysitter for when Den buys me a pint )
most definately an "OHHHH YESSSS!!!!" moment one could say almost orgasmic.
The two Queens who live across the road were twitching their curtains to find out what the noise was about as there was an almighty whoop and the revving of an engine , OK it wasn't a big throaty V8 nut it was beuatiful to my So now I'm on
And hopefully in the none too distant future I will be

Peetbee, how's yours going or isn't it. I guess from your comment re dens jumper that it's not. I suppose you're concentrating on the FWD budget kit i could allow a little grace if we get an update on progress as things have gone very quiet on that front and I for one am very interested
Hi Andy,
You guessed right, mine's not getting very far at all. I've been working away from home again so haven't had much time in the garage. Looking to restart again next week once I've fixed my normal car, and put new brakepads in Mrs Bee's car and also on her motorbike. I think there's some kitchen cupboards that need fixing too!!
I think you're mixing me up with Mark (ex-biker)though, wasn't he looking at this budget fwd kit project?
