My dad and I went out to take some pictures up at Derwent Resivouir and we stopped to take some pics on the side of the road.

As he moved from the side of the car to allow me to take a shot, he decided to "stop me taking a shot".

didn't work I'm almost crying

I did post this in GG, but figure most of you don't look in there...

Is that Marlin completely white? A chap 2 doors down from me has (or at least had last summer) a soft-top car in a similar style, but I couldn't work out what type of car it was. The closest seemed to be a Tiger Hawke, as the radiator had that v-shape at the top, whereas most other cars of similar style that I could find had a smooth curve.

I see you were near the Derwent reservoir, which is near to where I am, so I was wondering if perhaps that car is infact the one from my road. Not based in Consett are you by any chance?

Edit: ah, just seen your webpage, and it seems the car is black!! Ah well, never mind!

If you're up north (indeed consett) check out this forum north east PH'ers, we get together often and get to see some awesome machinery

I've seen a white Marlin Roadster around here, as well as a JBA falcon. There is also a Marlin Berlinetta in green and dark green. Several Westies, a Caterham...

Don't speak to me about wiring, the old Marina Loom is experiencing "difficulites" shall we say.

I'm certain that the first time I connect up the battery (which might be tonight if I have enough beer beforehand) there will be an assortment of pops and fizzes, and a bit of smoke, and it'll all be knackered.

Reading wiring schematics is a black art as far as I'm concerned. What I need is a "Dummies guide to wiring diagrams".

Connect the battery via a 30 Amp fuse. If it survives then you do not have a dead short. You can then work your way through testing each function in turn. It will not take having everthing on at the same time nor will you be able to start the engine.

Thanks for that info - might save me melting something expensive.

No chance of starting the engine anyway - I've not yet splashed out for the Weber Alpha carb pack - £1300!!! erk...
