I know you need a demisting facility for the SVA (windscreen fitted), but do the control switches have to say what it does?

I'll explain . . . I have fitted a Metro heater box and am using Rover 200 switch controls.
The Metro controls work in this order - face, screen, feet. Yet the 200 controls work - feet, face, screen.

As I have blanked off the face vents, the controls will read 'screen' when actually pumping air to the feet and 'feet' when pumping air to the screen.

Is this an SVA problem?

I don't believe so.
This is why someone has to be with the vehicle for the SVA. The inspector may be viewing car designs all week long that he has never seen before so has no idea where and what the controls are.
The heat and A/C controls on the Ultima are up under the dash. They are marked but you would need to be upsidedown in the seat to read them.

The heater that is in my Ult uses a choke type thing to turn the heater hot or cold..... and you adjust were it sends the heat using the vents.
There are no markings at all except on the blower switch.
