Thanks ex-biker, yep, there is a kitcar trackday at elvington airfield on sunday.. Still unsure as to which / if any manufacturers are turning up as it would appear after close inspection that very few have suitable liability insurance for such events (make you wonder about Donnington!). Any road, the venue will be packed with kitcar owners out for a blast with like minded individuals.
There is instruction from trackday veterans, and professionals alike if you are new to it all.
It is also hoped that a trackcar hire company are there with caterhams to scare you in.
I know I seem a bit vague about it, but a lot of people a waiting to see weather reports before commiting.
If you want to passenger in any vehicle, then you need to pay the organiser £10 on the day to cover any liability, and then if it's a manufacturer they MAY ask for a nominal donation towards fuel / tyres.

Full booking form on www.javelin-trackdays.co.uk

If you are driving past and want to spectate / have a chat then call in...I'll probably have the corner weights with me aswell, so at least you can get your car weighed for free.

Oh and finally you get to meet Den "Kitcarman" Tanner and Adam James.... Reason enough to attend?

Exellent: Is the track day a curcit or is it 1/4 mile sprints ? My car is only good at 1/4 mile sprints as it is a jago jeep and it dosent like corners to well, but it loves the 1/4 mile streight. I don`t want to sound like a traitor but i am racing at york raceway the next day i cant afford to pay to race on the sunday at elvington as much as id like to as it is one of the closest events to home. I think this will be an exellent day. (have you got the 1/4 mile beams).

Sorry Jago, it's a proper circuit, with corners and everything.
Your jago is still more than welcome...it'll do better than my car, which after arranging the whole thing I kinda forgot about, and don't actually have one! Doh!

How much is it for a go round the track ! As ill have some super soft sticky slicks on and wont go long round a track before they fry as they are only ment for little runs. I have also just had a total new set up on my drive train, my axel, gearbox, propshaft and my gearing i hav`nt a clue how it will react. So just once around would do me.

Email Colin Jebson at Javelin (link on their website), he is a really helpful guy, tell him you need to do A run before your big sprint the next day etc and he MAY be able to accomodate, perhaps during the lunch break etc?

If anyone is new to this trackday melarky then head over to the excellent www.madabout-kitcars.com where, in the articles section some bloke called Matt has put a beginers guide.
