You do see a few about. I saw this nice one at a show the other day. They were quite well made, but rudimentary I think from memory. Price is virtually impossible to gauge.

thats the one.....

he wanted 3.5k which i thought was steep, considering that it has stood for 15 years.

it still looks good and starts but 15 years, will need some cash spent with out a doubt.

thanks for coming back, starting to think that nobody cared laugh

How much more (that website is a little bit short of usable information)

£25,000 in 2007.

Interesting that it's leaf-sprung at the rear.

Why would you spend £25k on a replica MGTD/TF when you could buy a real one for less? wobble

Any original you bought for less would

a, be a POS
b, need constant maintenance
c, be difficult to get spares for
d, doesn't go, doesn't handle and doesn't stop.

At least with one of these you can just get on with enjoying the drive.

This has 130 bhp, discs all round, air con, etc.

I bought my old PGO from this company and the guy had some older TD2000s for sale too.

Worth giving him a call, perhaps?

They use the same axle as Morgan do IIRC, a Ford unit.

I know it's each to their own, but rather like any 'replica', if it's SO different to the real thing it's a bit pointless to my eyes.

My point exactly, if you want the old car experience get an old car. If you want something modern with 130bhp there are hundreds to chose from. If you want to wear a WWII flying jacket and flat cap get a Morgan, excellent cars which have perpetuated the anachronism perfectly. Finally I can't be bothered to debate the point but an MGTD for £15k-25k would certainly not be a pile of st.

People like what they like and long may it be so. Things are worth what ever someone who likes them wants to pay. Sometimes it's stupid money but hey if you want to spend a million on a Bugatti......

I like no end of crazy things but I wouldn't go telling someone who doesn't like what I like that they are stupid. I accept that lots of people wouldn't jump off a cliff but I do and I enjoy it I also like fast cars that I can't afford so I build ones that can do just as good a job and if I like a crazy old fashioned car then I'll build that too.

Didn't BMW do something like this ? Hmmmm Mini? Oh and Didn't Ford too GT ? Good lord so did VW Beetle. All far more money than the originals

Just as long as people realise they are not originals and are sold them under the pretext that they are there's no harm in people buying things because they like them. God help us if we have to buy things because we are told we have to. So £3500 for a 15 year old Gentry. Well if it's nice then why not. People pay more for 15 year old Nissan Figaros.
