2+2 suggestions
Discussion
If anyone can help I'm sure you lot can, a friend of mine wants to get back into kits, (he had a dutton Melos, and a Nova during the 80's)..Only now he has a 5 year old son, and as a result needs either a 3 seater or a 2+2. Fully complete or at least very nearly complete is prefered. He has no real idea on style, although I'd expect him not to potter about in a MG TF replica...he does on the other hand quite like Hawk V8's. What is the likely hood of finding one of the 2+2 cobras?
It needs to be sporting, convertable idealy, a drivers car, and look a bit different(so no quantum 2+2).
He is prepared to spend what it takes to get a good one (£15,000 if it's worth it), yet if you know of something at £1500 then he certainly isn't a snob, he just wants a bit of fun in something that fits the bill.
Any ideas.
Thanks.

I have a JBA Falcon Tourer. It took my 2 sons in the back well into their teens. It even had three 16 year olds in the back for a short journey. They were not impressed. Having just prepped their hair for a night out on the town I blew it all away with a 90MPH blast down the motorway.
It's still my daily driver 10 years after building it.
A 2L Pinto gives it all the power it needs but others have fitted Rover V8 and pull 22-foot double axle caravans.

As mentioned in a previous post john butler at vindicator is looking at doing a 2+2 version of the shadow and has asked for my input so if any of you chaps have any comments you want passing on either post them here or mail me off forum and I will pass them on.
He also mentioned the possiblity on doing a 2+2 version of the sprint tho I don't know how many people would be interested or how feasable it would be or how much it would compromise the handling etc

Right then, 2+2 and preferably convertible, but no Quantums, no running boards and no stretched Porkalikes.
Only thing I can think of that might fit the bill is the Metisse cabriolet.

The website doesnt work. Anyone know where I can see some decent pics of one. From previous experience the Metisse is a bit dated looking as well but I have the feeling its been updated since the one I saw.

I'm in the same boat - looking for a nice kitcar but must have something that can carry two kids as well, so it must be a 2+2. As I already have a nice shiny motorbike I can't justify buying another vehicle that won't take passengers
Sounds like I'm more of a fan of running boards than the rest of you, and I'm currently trying to screw up the courage to spend extremely large amounts of money on an Aristocat (www.kitsnclassics.com/aristocat.html) - they're beautiful machines that really took my breath away at Stoneleigh last year.
I haven't dared have a test drive yet, so can't vouch for how well they drive - has anyone else tried one?

Hi G-wizz,
Haven't driven an Aristocat but can tell you that they've been around for ages and seem to be accepted by the Jaguar owner's clubs, which should say something about their quality.
Can also tell you that the people who make them have decades of motor sports experience and that their Gemini kit is a race winner.
You're going for the 140 coupe I take it?
