I'm all in favour of trying to move away from what is a 1952(?) design with a bit of originality, but there is simply no excuse for trying to sell an ugly car.....

Ferg, really! and I was trying to be so kind.

It seems such a shame, as everyone who has driven them seems to like them...then again, that probably because you can't actually see it when you are driving it.

Actually, Matt, I'm not as dictatorial as that makes me sound!! I do have an 'each to their own' attitude and it's the quality of the early cars that put me off Vindicator not the styling. I don't bother to look at them now so maybe I shouldn't comment.

Thnks for the Italian design Wizzard comment, but if I can find some pictures on the web I'll try to work on it, is it a front engine rear drive car or mid-engine?

It can be fun to rework some of the kit cars in the market right now. Tell me others that you guys think would need updating and maybe once in a while I can work on it for fun,

Thanks

Found pictures on the web and visited the Vindicator website, the car is kind of interesting...especially the mid engine seating in a front engined rear drive car.

I think something interesting can come out of it..... It will be a challenge but I will try.

Well, the man who designed the original Stratos at BERTONE, Marcello Gandini, did a new styling proposal for a modern LANCIA STATOS.

I think it looks great, you can find pictures on the stola website and it is called S81

www.stola.it

Can't do better than that on the Stratos unless you do something completely different.

Litton went bust , the car got taken over by CAE, then they closed shop . The Evoluzione is based on the Litton, but more along the lines of a Group 5 LeMans type style. Available from down south somewhere.

I've seen several rethinks on the Stratos, the Stola I don't like. I guess it depends on what aspects of the Stratos you keep / improve, which parts you change when you come up with a new version. The Litton chassis is exceptionally good, and I'm merely putting new bodywork on it - the windscreen stays by necessity, but all else is open to change. Should I emphasise the RWD aspect, the low frontal possibilities, the rounded windscreen , it's go-kartness, it's rally heritage, go for a supercar look, or something just totally unusual??? It'll be my little alien

Working on the Vindicator sprint redesign, having problems finding good pictures on the web.

Visited their website, but apart the two chassis pictures, could not find one with the engine in it (I need the engine in the chassis to create believeble renderings).

Can anyone help? any Vindicator Sprint owners on PH?

Thanks for all your help

If I can get my Vindicator renderings scanned you will see them real soon..........

I hope you will like the re-design, I tried to simplify the design and up-date the lotus seven look.

I will be interested in your thoughts and opinions..
