Do they exist ?

(q asked on behalf of a friend, I'm some way off having to worry about the SVA (I've got the catalogues and, err, that's it )

Try www.s-v-c.co.uk they seem to have some (not sure if they're SVA proof though.

The only SVA requirements for them (I think) are that the need to be fitted vertically and have an "E" mark on the lens.

Try talking to Premier Wiring. I think it's Alan there.

He will be able to supply you with the lights you are looking for with the correct markings. I believe there is a specific number req'd along with the 'e' mark to depict the lens is meant for a fog light.

Remember that the foglight must be vertically mounted.

Hi,
the rear fog light hasnt only got to be mounted vertically and be Emarked it also has to be bright enough. Mine failed its first SVA as it wasnt as bright as the one they have to compare it with at the testing station!

Thanks Looks as though SVC have an item that should do the job.
The tester's view was that it had to be E-marked, 80cm2 or over, vertically mounted and 'of sufficient brightness' (whatever that means.)

When going for the SVA, take some tin foil with you...I nearly failed, as the vertically mounted, E marked Cheapo fog light the manufacturer supplied wasn't bright enough; this was down to not having a reflective backing behind the bulb, the tin foil should cure this.

Could be wrong, but I'd have thought the round stop/tail light type units as used on Cobras or Land Rovers would have done so long as you're using a 25W bulb (as per brake lights).

Bugger! OK, another thought. Look at the back of a TVR Tamora or Tuscan Speed Six and what do you find? That's right, round reversing and fog lights. And they must be legal or TVR wouldn't use them.

Suggest a visit to the TVR forum asking Tamora and Tuscan owners what make their back lights are.
