. Well, the weather forecast for yesterday was pretty wrong - took some great photographs without a cloud in sight.
But alas, today made up for it.
We had drizzle on the way in, heavy rain hammering on the roof whilst walking around inside, then just a light drizzle with brightening skies on the way out.
As for highlights, hmmm...
It was good to have a quick chat with a couple of the people from Team GTM as I'm now a paid up member of the GTM appreciators society
The Paul Banham Mini Roadster conversion on their stand was good to take a look at - my girlfriend is thinking about having one. Very interesting to see just how badly finished it was for a factory demonstrator - badly fitted carpets, worn trim where the rear deck fits and where the A and B pillars were chopped down, the metal was just left bare and sharp
Lots of owners cars on display - many, many Robin Hoods! Some cars were parked up either side of the road on the way down to the exhibition hall. On the way out with clearing weather, there was an RS200 replica next to a GT40 rep. Both in blue and white. Hopefully got a couple of nice pics of them - will upload something later if I got anything worth showing.
RV Dynamics had a stand too! A Bugrat, a Nemesis and a Python rolling chassis. Didn't know which one was Vince, so didn't get to say "Hello".
And the
s were nice.
Oh yes, and the possible unfortunate side effect of delaying Meeja's project slightly by tempting him with a Canon digital SLR.

Overall not a bad show, similar to last year, although it rained most of the day, it didn't really matter, as it is mainly an indoor show.....
No sign of Fibs on the WK? stand, at least I didn't spot him, (btw, from next month WK? is going to be renamed "WHICH KIT CAR", (wonder what Den will think of that?)

Well, the usual exhibitors, Westfield (small stand), Tiger, Leugo, MK, Pilgrim, Dax, Beauford, Chester sports cars, Vince of course, I often think one of the best things about this show are the tool and accessory stands, I bought a few bits and bobs for my Tiger, but overall, I would not say they were doing too much business, I often wonder how they make some of these show stands pay....
Definitely a worthwhile day out imho.......

Thanks wacky. As you know I forgot my PH badge so if I bumped into meeja or Lexsport I wouldn't have known you from adam and you wouldn't have known me.
There was quite a tidy viper rep on the walk up round about lunch time got me thinking but mrs spartan andy says our garage hasn't got elastic walls.
The new styling on the vindicator looked good IMHO.
Picked up a bargain on my switches bought 4 switches at £6 each and they charged me £12 Hmmm
Will be going to stoneleigh to pick up some seats as I couldn't decide whether a certain pair would fit or not.
Other than that an enjoyable show, didn't get to talk to vince he had a couple with him and he must have benn extolling the virtues of his chassis as I saw him bounce on the back a few times. Then Mrs spartan andy got mardy and complaied about sore feet so at that jucture we went home

Erm, have ordered a Canon EOS300D this morning
Was a little disappointed with the show, whilst I realised that it not "one of the big two" I thought there may have been more owner's cars around. Presumably the lousy weather put paid to that!
I did send Mrs Meeja on a mission to ask the show's hosts where "the big red sports car that you built in the magazine" was.....
On the whole I did enjoy it.... and my mate (the one who has "wanted to build a kit car for years") by my reckoning will be placing an order for a Robin Hood before the month is out!
The Veranti confirmed my thoughts in previous posts, that although it looks a superbly built product, if I wanted a car like that, I could just go and buy any number of production cars that are readily available.
Like LexSport, I was suitably unimpressed with the Banham's, particulatly the Mini conversion.... it looked like the interior was due to be completed in April.
Despite taking another close look, I *still* don't like Pilgrim's Speedster!
One gripe though... (this is the sensible parent part in me coming out now!)... Apart from baby changing facilities (which were very unhygenic!) the facilities for those with very small children were very poor. No high-chairs available in the cafe (which seemed to be a smokers free-for-all too) and no food-warming facilities. All added up to a grumpy baby Meeja!
And a big thanks to Darran for showing off his Digital SLR to me..... it has cost me a small fortune this morning!

Although I am not usually a fan of the Italian body-panel conversions, I was impressed with one or two of the (owners rather than traders) fake Ferraris yesterday..... very, very tempting!

Did anybody find out how much the luego was that sat in front of the which kit stand was up for ?

Talking around £15,000.
I know most of what went into it, and it was all either new or fully reconned. the engine was a proven good one left alone.

Sorry Q1 as mentioned in a previous post made the badges looked quite good if I say so myself put them on the side while we packed up the picnic walked out the door and didn't realise I hadn't got them until I was at Stafford show.
Mind you Mrs spartan andy thought I was a "sad git" for doing it and reckoned everyone else might think the same
Meeja just a thought if you take long enough and keep spending your money on other things somebody will probably come up with a 2+2 cobra style car, or maybe even a 2+2 LSIS

If you have to ask the price you can't afford it....
The sign said it cost a LOT of money to assemble, so I imagine that was code for it wasn't cheap...!
Credit to it's builder though, a superb job
