I guess you've looked at RPI, they go up to a 5.2l with about 300bhp. I think my B would just concertina up with one of those under the bonnet.

I see there is a Caterham for Sean Connery, "I'll take the Roadshport Q".

Could base an MG Midget on a Caterham perhaps.

A number of people already have Midgets that use K-series engines, Ford 'boxes, axle components, etc. Makes for a quick little car. Certainly still on the shortlist to go in my project Midget.

First collaboration model could be a new Midget - sucessor to the Caterham 21?

Less extreme than a 7, more attitude (and 'traditional' sportscar layout) than an MGF? Almost a baby TVR type-o-thing?

Cheers, Phil (just dreaming while bored at work)

I didn't know Sean Connery wrote articles for Pistonheads. Or has Ted been on the

I was just thinking the other day that Caterham should be referring to the K-series as being an MG engine these days. Perhaps I can be the next Mystic Meg.

Cerbman, MG Discounted using the 7 as a basis for a Midget, it would require to much engineering work to make it practical for everyday use apparently. Sounds like they have something else in mind!

Interesting two new powerplants in the 7 line up for 2002, a 200 and 230bhp version of the 1.8 K Series!

Many tell me that the K series has head trouble. X Flows sound like Caterhams- i.e you can't make it cough and fart like twin webers.
X Flow-er and proud!!!

I wondered why the Caterham Roadsports at Castle Coombe last week all had MG branding down the side (thought it was a bit odd at the time) - now I know!

1.8 with 230bhp???????? LOLOL! in the last 1000km MGZr160 made in Estoril (Portugal – Europe – EarthPlanet), 5 of the 20 cars ended with broken engines…

and even my 1.4 K is starting to give some problems… it has 50.000km, and it is loosing a mountain of oil – it is in minimum after 5.000 km. i don’t have cracks in the under side of the engine, i don’t have (notable) escapes from anywhere, and i isn’t loosing compression… what’s happening with it?

IS THERE SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP ME????

should i fit a double weber????

Hello V12 inside, even the clio 2 liter from the clio cup in our country ( Portugal ) only with +- 180 bhp, when they ( Renault sport ) changed the positon of the air filter to a new postion with more air dynamic pressure, 3 cars broke the engines as well.
As you can see this kind of competition is familiarized with broken engines...

The Caterham R500 has been fitted with the 1.8k (as modified by Minster Racing) for a good while now for road use. This is rated at 230bhp and I believe has proved to be quite reliable.
