Can anyone tell me where to get hold of a Map Pocket come oddments bin that can be fixed to a carpeted back board? (decent size and good quality so not plasticky)

I have little or no oddments storage in the car and need something behind the seats to keep things from looking a mess, needs to have a bottom so that the panel can be removed without everything falling out!

Aftermarked or Original pref Black.

Cheers
Nick

Not quite what you said, but how about one of those luggage nets that keep small bits from flying around in the boot? Seem to remember the latest Jag XJ has a good one.

Thanks Graham
I intend to fit a net as well, as you have seen the space behind the seats is quite large, at present there is nowhere safe for smaller things that will slip thru a net so will keep looking.

Once I have fitted the new centre console it will have a small bin behind the handbrake which should help.

The only decent sized OE component I can thnk of is the document holder that's top centre of a Transit dashboard... was designed to fit A4 sheets of paper and you could get an A4 ring binder in there too (the front clips would pop off, but they were designed to). I'm not 100% up to date on modern passenger car interiors but would be surprised if a car had anything as large - people carriers mebbe but I've never been in one

It's on the latest model Trannie launched in 2001 or so. You'd need 2 screws to secure to your bulkhead (might need right-angled brackets) and 2 holes at the sides for the clips to locate in. Not hard to fit once you've seen the part.

Easily available from Ford or the local commercial scrappie if you wanted, only trouble is it's only available in grey and is made of polypropylene. If you were going to paint it, best course of action is to heat it up a bit with a blowtorch - just lightly play the flame over the surface to raise the temp a bit, not enough to melt or burn it! - and when cool, prime and paint. Without flame treating, paint generally falls off polypropylene.

How do I know all this? In a previous life I was responsible for launching the Transit instrument panel and all its fittings...

Thanks Andy - too quiet I know but I've been on the hunt for a new job, which has got precedence unfortunately! Has meant my FWD ideas have been on hold too but I'll be getting back on with that next week, it's been static for ages which wasn't the plan at all.

Sorry for the hijack Nick
