What about a PH launch? Where you invite all PH members to try it out around a circuit.
would Love to be able to fly all you guys over here, if i had the money to test drive car in the sun, with the 32deg heat....its a hard life here
What is the weather like in the UK at the moment?
Congratulations!
You might have posted this elsewhere, so apologies if that is the case, but how is ignition/fuelling taken care of on the BM engine? Have you made the original BM bits inc ECU work, or gone to an alternative setup?
I'm far from an expert on these things but understood the ECU's on modern engines refuse to play if various sensors aren't connected up and giving expected readings?
Good luck with the first drive!
Chris

Hi Chriss
All on the original ECU .
but not easy to sort out all the wires, and Bm not helpfull with there tec information, was a big pain to get running and may still need some other wires to have load on them to get all the "bugs" out ! but if it runs then the computer has "fault" codes that are stored in the ECU and can only be read buy Bm test gear, so will have it tested once it is ready for SVA and if any "codes" come up then will have some idea where to look ,
also best to be pre 93 engine or ECU and loom as not linked to ABS as "traction control" and dose not go in to "safe mode" if all the components are not linked !
with the bm ECU'S the OLDER the BETTER!!
ps had water leek in heater rad so good to test water system Befor the carpets and dash are in to stay !!!
Cheers Vince,
Sounds like quite an achievement
FWIW the reason I am so interested is that I have an old Triumph Vitesse that was one of my first cars that I am gradually fixing up when time allows. I have plans to tune the Triumph six cylinder engine, but often wonder if it might be worth considering dropping in BMW 2.5 out of a scrap E30 325i instead. The thought was it could be a cheap and easy route to 170+ bhp which would cost a fair bit to achieve with the Triumph engine. Plus the BM engine is a lovely unit in its own right. I'm currently frightened off by the electronics side of things but sounds like that should be possible to overcome with enough thought / trial and error.
There is a guy on the web somewhere putting an E36 M3 engine in a Triumph GT6 but that's a bit adventurous for me - he's having to scratch build a new chassis!
Sorry if this is wandering off the topic of Kit Cars in general and the thread in particular, but if I ever got round to going this it would be a bit of a kit of sorts by the time I was finished!

Python Update
Had first test drive today.
I am very pleased and I expect she will be everything I promised. The "expert" who supplies shocks for other Cobra's suggested a much heavier spring rate than I requested. He said the ones I wanted would be too light! It appears I was wright.
New week the Air Force has offered us a runway to continue our testing. We may need to pick up a G suit and some oxygen after what we experienced today.
