I need to get a tag made up for my chassis no.
Any idea where I can get one.
People I have spoken to need a log book & reg no etc. but its not been SVAd yet so have neither. The plate did not come with kit. just no on paperwork.

Hi Kev.
I made some plastic stick on VIN plates for AK a while ago. Seemed to be SVA acceptable Tell me what you want?
Cheers Chris

I didn't need this at SVA, but did need it for registering the vehicle. Apart from the chassis plate the VIN number should be etched or stamped into the chassis itself somewhere visible on the offside of the vehicle. I etched mine into a chassis rail with a dremel. Have fun..

The VIN number MUST be stamped into the chassis. I too used a stick-on plastic plate for my chassis number & when this was presented at Southampton for SVA the tester would not even begin looking at the car until I'd found some punches and stamped the chassis !!

Well in the end I punched the No. in a spare off cut of Ally & rivited it to the chassis.
I just thought there may have been a requirement for more detail. ie the legend "Chasis No." or "VIN" No. with a set type face or something.

But thanks for the help & advice offered by all.
