Due to moving premises?? Surely you would want to take the tools to build your major project with you

Shame really to see someone's hard work come to nothing.

Presume legal threats from Lambo were what put paid to the project? You can sort of see their point though.

Indeed - you could actually take the legal threats as a compliment on the quality of the workmanship.

However, many other companies make replicas and have a way of getting around the problems that go with them. You have got to think that if Rapid Productions were to have a chance of a comercial venture, then they would have got that sort of problem sorted very early doors!

Yeah, their auction forgot to mention a key selling point - successful bidder wins the right to be sued to the full extent of the law by Lamborghini!

Definately a shame.

I can see no reason for it. The kit would of never hurt Lambo's sales.

the website is still active, maybe the moulds aren't useful or something (i.e. the replica is too good so he's changed it and is wanting to sell it and recoup some losses?)

I see there's been a bit of activity on these items ie the chassis and body shell total just over £3K if its legit and can be done then someone just got a cheap kitcar company methinks.

It's not you is it vince. would love to see the guys face if it is when you asked them to ship it to sri lanka

Can anyone think why the legal trouble with this and not the racks of Countach and Diablo kits that have been around for years? Is it because it's been done so soon after the Murc's launch?

I reckon so, though could also be something to do with Lambo now being part of VAG and maybe they are a bit more rigorous about protecting "the brand" than Lambo were as an independent?

Could be, but they were part of Chrysler when the Diablo was around and I would have thought they'd be quite rigorous about such things...

Does this mean they are called VALG now?

Or if you include Seat and Skoda - SVALS Group?

what happens if one person/company buy the body and someone else buys the chassis jigs. might prove amusing

It's a shame, but I can't say I'm very surprised. If Rapid Productions are moving premises and are planning to market a different kit, then I don't rate their chances. This will have seriously damaged their credibility.
