Hi guys
Just joined up,
I have just started a build of a Sebring Exalt. Wondered if anybody else on here has built one of Sebrings cars and what the general opinion of the Exalt is.
Early days in to the build but I hope to have the rolling chassis built by the end of Xmas.
Probably have a million and one questions throughout the build which I hope some of you might be able to help with.
My only previous experience in anything like this has been building Land rovers for competing in winch trials.
Thanks in advance

I don't actually know of an Exalt builder, though presumably the suppliers do, but if you have a question post it up here anyway, as many/most of the problems that arise are not really make specific.

What is the Exalt actually based on donorwise?

The exalt is not one car doner specific. The rear end is Granada diff shafts hubs and brakes with Sebrings own suspension. Front end is Granada hubs and brakes. Engine choice Rover V8 or Chevy I have opted for the LS6 Chevy engine with a Tremec 5 speed box.
The glass is all from a MX5 as is the Hood. Throw in a few parts from a Focus and all the rest is bespoke. Not the cheapest build around.

I didn't think it would be based on just one car, as there aren't any donor cars around that could provide all the parts for a kit car like that. I'm guessing the important steering column and switch assembly is Granada too? If it is then it shares many attributes with some Cobras, especially the Pilgrim Sumo, so that is another potential source of info. You should join the cobra club forum too. I'll add a link later if I can find it (new computer, can't find stuff)

Thanks
The steering colomn is Focus as is the rack. The cobra link would be great if you can find it.
