After two years of graft I finally got some response back from the Phantom at the weekend.

OK so I did cheat a bit and get the designer of the loom round to help but, we've got lights, instruments, wipers, fans etc in fact all the electrics work except for the starter! this is due to me not having installed the alarn ECU as I was told this would not impair starting... turns out it does.

Still, off to the MG centre today to get the ECU and locks, plips etc and fingers crossed it will be running by next weekend. Two weeks for the interior to be trimmed and then its SVA here we come.

Hope you don't mind the self indulgance but seeing it do something has kick started my enthusiasm and I can't wait to hit the road.

Oh and Ex-biker, I will be at Pistonfest and hopefully so will the car!!

Nice one, look forward to seeing a customer built car. I was on the brink of putting in my order for a Phantom but to do it justice it would have gone over my budget so I'm doing a nice spec Libra instead...

Hopefully I'll check it out at Stafford, but if not you've just given me even more reason to get to PistonFest.

Good luck with the SVA.

Hope the engine's running soon. That's the best bit of all!

By the way what engine are you installing?

YES...IT'S A RUNNER!!!

Engine started first kick, ok so there's water *issing out at the radiator and somewhere on the engine but who cares

I've even got electrically heated and powered mirrors working. Can't wait for the trim to come back now so that I can see if it moves as well.

Should be able to post some pictures as soon as Dontlift sorts out my website hosting..

Congrats - that's a brilliant feeling. I remember when I fired up my Dax for the first time, the combination of excitement that it's running and fear I'd forgotten something and it would go bang!
