Saw one of these pass my house last weekend.... beautifully built.
Got me thinking - I understand that the Sabre was going to be relaunched after it disappeared with VMC in Doncaster going a while back. (Website simply says due for relaunch in Autumn 2009)
Does anyone have any concrete news? I really do like these cars......
The Asquith site simply talks about vintage vans, with no mention anywhere of the Sabre - despite there being a seperate site (owned by Asquith) for the Sabre.

Yes agree with you completely, IMHO too it's a beautiful car. So much so that I've bought one.
Ten or so years ago I visited Stoneleigh with a buddy who was in to kit cars and was quite taken with the Sabre and toyed with the idea of buying a kit. Family pressure (SWMBO said no) meant that I had to delay my plans but earlier this year decided the time (and finances) were right to give it a go. Only to find what you've found, the Sabre's not made any more.
Did a bit of digging and spoke to Asquith who didn't seem to know that they owned the rights to it, then spoke to another couple of people and eventually got in touch with a chappie who said he was going to relaunch it at Stoneleigh this year. But he hasn't done so to date and according to a couple of other chaps he's been saying that for 3 or 4 years. I was quite lucky in that I picked up a copy of Kit Car magazine at Stoneleigh and the first advert in the classifieds section was for a newly completed Sabre without SVA. Spoke to the seller and we agreed that he'd SVA it and agreed a price. And I'm now the proud owner of a Sabre. The guy who built it took nine years to get it to "failing the SVA stage" then got fed up with it!!!
Also tracked down and joined the Sabre owners club, they've got a basic website www.royaleownersclub.org.uk
Whether or not "someone" is going to resurrect production seems to be still a matter of conjecture but according to the club newsletter there's something like 90 members and around 50 cars "on the road" and half a dozen still in build. I know of one part built car that's up for sale for around £6K. Don't know if there's any unstarted kits around though. I think IVA might cause some problems for the Sabre though - e.g. windscreen glass now has to be approved and the Sabre's isn't.
As soon as I can work out how to do it, I'll upload a couple of pics of mine. Smashing car, gets loads of comments.
