Not keen on it myself, reminds me a lot of the MG SV (styling wise, not the looks). The reason I like the old cobra is the curvy styling, the pretty little haunches and the long bonnet. They seem to have taken the old design and added a "body kit" that maxer's add to their Nova's (IMO). While it looks nice, it is too influenced by the original / isn't far enough different IMHO.
On the other hand, the 2005 Mustang is the dogs doo-dars IMO, the way they have taken queues from the original but designed a new car. Or at least it looks that way compared to the new Cobra.

It's just not quite right IMHO.
I think it's mainly the rear arches. They don't flow into the body, more sit adjacent to it.
The bonnet vent and grill don't seem to fit into the design properly either.
Looking at the rear three quarter view is better (and with 600 odd bhp in a 1400kg car it's going to be what most people see). I think if the front of the rear arches moulded into the body more like the rear of the front arches (if you're still with me), it would look better. Possibly even just dropping down to an 18" rim at the rear (same as the fronts) and reducing the extent to which the rears wings are emphasised - perhaps moving away from the original Cobra too much for their intentions, but no more than the way they've interpreted the other cues AFAICS.
Edge design is all well and good on a Ford Focus, but trying to combine that sort of styling with the curves of one of the curviest of cars doesn't seem to gell.

It's FUGLY IMO
That said, bits of it I like, the side profile (from the front edge of the front tyre backwards) and the centre section of the front view.
I'm sorry but those front wings with those lights really spoil it, it doesn't look good, it doesn't look agressive, it looks bug eyed (cue Fourwheeldrift's picture of the aero8 )
The two silver strut type things on the front look out of place and I don't particularly like the front grille with the flat bottom edge.
