At last, I get an early Christmas present. Off up to Crediton tomorrow morning to pick up my chassis and bits for the 5Exi.

Not all good news though. Work Christmas do tomorrow night and then off to Manchester to see mum on Sunday. I'll be taking the build manual up with me , and I might be lucky to get one day to play before Christmas day.

To top the good news, bad news senario, I went to the hospital yesterday and it looks like I could have an operation on my arm in the early in the new year. Can't make my mind up if that's good or bad.

So Merry Christmas everyone (just in case I don't visit again).

Consider it edited!

It is my arm that is the problem. I've only got about 50 deg of movement in my right elbow.

Good luck with the arm, Mark. Have you tried heating it with a blowlamp? Or perhaps soaking it in WD-40?

Practical, us kitcar types!!

You need Duck tape or WD-40.

If it's a bit of your arm moving that's not supposed to use the tape.

If it's a bit of your arm not moving but it's supposed to use the WD-40.

Pop back in two weeks.

Nurse! Next!!

Well got it.

One of 5 picked up today. 2 people are using 2lt Turbo engines and the rest seem all to be using the 1.6 (me included)

Silver car is the biz.

Should be able to do something on it in the next few days, when back from Mum's. Taking build manual for some gentle reading.

Yeah, come on, we want pics! You sitting on the chassis holding steering wheel is compulsory. You sitting on loo reading build manual is a no no!

Only just seen this Mark....

Here is your new dilemma....

Christmas Day...... stuff yourself with Turkey, wine and chocolate, and lounge around in front of the TV with Mrs Ex-Biker....

Or spend a few hours in the garage......

That is a tough call!!!!

Enjoy!

Tempting though it may be on Xmas day, always remember to put safety first and don't work on safety critical bits when !

Already warned - no turkey sarnies in garage xmas day. Round to inlaws instead - all day, staying over 'til mid afternoon Boxing day.

Spend all the time I like 'til 5 Jan in the garage after.

As for pics, I still can't post 'em at the mo. Trying to sort a website, but still getting hosting issues.

You could sign up to webshots or fotango in the meantime as somewhere just to upload pics free of charge.

Yes, Me and Spartan Andy need to know if you're in the race to avoid one of Den's jumpers!

Not sure I should get into this, but I suppose I've been encouraging it more than most.

Firstly, I'm not sure I should be included as you both have a good head start on me.

Secondly, you both know where all the bits go and that they fit. I don't. I know of 2 mods already.

Thirdly, you 2 have been in the kit car game much longer than me.

Forthly, Den's jumpers would never suit me. I'm too young for all that.

Well if I'm not out of the running for a jumper with all those excuses, I am hoping to have it ready for mid summer at the latest. Like all well laid plans, I'm sure that will be the case. I do have a little issue of an operation hanging over me, which might put me back a little too. Surely you'll take pity on a sick man?

I took mine apart best part of a year ago, I can't remember how it goes back together exactly. I'm also waiting for a friend to be able to do some welding so I can attach the rear axle and the gearbox!

Ok, might be true.

Erm likewise, that's the incentive to finish it!
