Car still looking the biz!
Nice to see you are looking at the MR2 as donor. I know the Fiero is great for the US but the MR2 is much easier to get hold of in the UK, and we've got companies like RAW Engineering that can get up to 200bhp from that little 1600.

Are you thinking of a windscreen?

Hmmm...now why doesn't that work? (edited...does now..)
Anyway the first pic is the concept I'm working towards and the second is work in progress as of about 4 weeks ago...I'll get a new side view soon...
Thanks all for the positive comments...

so you are building it all from scratch? Wow, I'm impressed!
Looks nice, I'm guessing it's going to be a track day only car? Without a windscreen (and only one seat) I guess it'd be too limited on the roads?
May I ask as to where you got the suspension layout/chassis design from? It's always intrigued me how people such as yourself can afford to build a car from scratch and do all the development work on it!
Still, looks nice. oh and for pics to work, they need the www.... not just www.

Thanks.
It is actually a road car and will have an aeroscreen(s). Of course it will have trackday potential, but street legal is the priority.
It may be the pictures are bad but is definitely a two seater..
I designed all the suspension myself (I'm a mechanical design engineer by day)....it hasn't cost much so far..except time..about two and half years so far...
Cheers, Alan

Alan,
Looking at the picture again, yes I can see the second seat , just on some of the pics it doesn't look like it.
I often fancied swapping out of the Computer Science course I'm doing and onto Mechanical Engineering, something about learning all that dirty stuff appeals
If you need a hand with any of the computery things, like websites or something give me a yell. I'd only be too happy to offer my services for free I like cars me

I was just wondering this morning how your "little"! project was coming along.
Looks great so far. There's something about the lines of the concept profile that I really like.
Working on your time line so far (ah the perils of mixing a job and a hobby!) I may be able to purchase one by the time it's finished.
I am of course assuming that this is a build up to eventual limited production?
Any ideas of project completion date? Dare I ask - projected price?
Keep up the good work!
Phil

It's starting to look really good. Out of interest, the body shape is quite complex (in a good way). Got me to wondering what that will that mean when it comes to productionise it? Will you end up having to mould it in lots of sections. Will this affect production cost significantly? Just interested in how these things work.
