Picked this up off www.total-sportscar.com it looks very nice (even if I'd still rather have one of the other two).
I wonder whether anyone's going to bring it into the uk? You would think that it would do quite well as long as the quality and price are comparable to other kits.

Agree - it looks the dogs bitz. IMHO the 917 was the greatest sports car of the lot. Only problem would be getting a suitable engine for the replica. With T70, GT40 you can get somethink closely related to the original, better even. But putting a regular Porsche flat 6 in a 917 would be like running a Cobra with a 2l Pinto. Perhaps you could bolt a pair of 3.6 Turbo engines together, then you would be getting there ............

There is no doubt that the 917 is the absolute ultimate. Every time I go to Goodwood FoS it is the 917s that stop me in my tracks even next to all the other exotica.

That kit looks like an extremely good replica. I know in an ideal world you'd want the pukka engine, but nevertheless put a mildy tuned 3.3 turbo engine in one of those and you could comfortably attain in excess of 500bhp per tonne, which would keep things more than exciting enough!

From a quick look at the price list, it doesn't exactly seem to fall into the "cheap and cheerful" category, but could maybe make an interesting alternative to an Ultima??? Imagine the reaction turning up at a track day with one of those!!!

Wonder if it will make it to the UK?

Compared to the budget you'd need to build a decent GT40, T70 or Ultima, I wouldn't have thought it would be too far from the mark, unless shipping it over made it too expensive.

If the CAV GT40 can come all the way from South Africa it should be possible, you'd just need a brave distribitor to test the water.
