transverse gearboxes

anyone got opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of the rover pg1 gearbox with lsd as fitted to 820 turbo or 620 turbo ( I have heard that the diff bearings are the only real problem ) and the ford mtx75 box from the mondeo ( 3rd gear syncro problems ? )

I have asked in the engine forum and various motorsports forums but without much success

Try motobuild for rover info, and burtons for ford stuff, both companies very informative and will tell you of anything they know.

the 820 turbo doesn't have and lsd, it has a standard diff. some of the 220 & 620 turbo's were fitted with a torque biasing diff. the same diff is fitted to the 200brm.
