Looking through the show report of the Exeter show on Totalkitcar, this car really caught my eye. Their website seems a bit light on information, though. Did anyone who attended the show have a talk with the people on the stand?
I was wondering how much they reckon it'll weigh with a typical Duratec installation? Also, I assume the car wasn't quite finished yet as it doesn't appear to have any front lights or upper doors. Was their any indication what these might look like?
Overall it looks really promising. I love the central driving position and the striking looks. Good luck to them.

Don't know about the weight but the car at the show was a finished track day car I believe.
They are doing 3 body styles. A completely open top car with half screen (looks a bit like an Ultima Can-am), what you saw at the show and then the same but with a roof/door panel assembly.
The roof and side screen will hindge and fold up towards to the 'T' bar, allowing you to open the door and get in.
They were handing out leaflets at Exeter, but they didn't have much info on them other than showing the other body styles.
Standard fit engine is Ford Duratec. I believe you can fit any size engine with them recomending a 2lt (200bhp ????).
Total build cost (as I've mentioned elsewhere on this forum) is around £13k. Looks like quite a bargain if you want a mini Ultima.

Cool, thanks for the info. I'd estimate it tipping the scales at about 750kgs or so, though hopefully it might be a little lighter.
The Duratec sounds like a sensible choice and would appear to offer good power, though personally I'd be interested in installing something a little more unusual. I wonder if a Volvo 5 cylinder Turbo could fit?

I suppose you also think the Roly Polys are a bit dishy. Maybe there's an unwritten rule that all British kit cars have to look hideous. For a good looking kit car, try www.k1-styling.sk or www.dynamic-performance.co.uk

The Aeon site speaks of a weight of 650Kg (www.aeonsportscars.co.uk/index.cfm?page=technical).
Speaking of alternative engines, I've been wondering a bit about that recently. There must be more an more flat four turbos turning up in scrap yards buried in the front end of trashed scoobies these days. A nice, low engine with a glorious sound, plenty of torque and tuning potential at well over 250-300bhp sounds like it could be lots of fun in a kit.
Wasn't Aeon some bizarre cartoon on MTV a few years back or something...?

In this instance IMHO the striking has been done with a rather large Ugly Stick I'm afraid. Kind of badly cribbed Ultima.
But probably a good trackday tool, nice and light and good luck to them indeed.
ps: we have a Fiat Multipla in the family before anyone accuses me of being biased against ugly cars
Well, I *was* going to be visiting the factory tomorrow. But, due to the weather, MIRA are keeping hold of the car over the weekend to try to get the testing finished before the end of the year.
I'll be keeping in touch with them and all being well there should be an SVA'd car available when I make it down to the factory.
Some teaser information to whet your collective appetites:
The car has been going through some fairly extensive testing as MIRA are developing their computerised suspension testing and are using the Aeon 420³ to test their tests.
The rear suspension has been tested on a hydraulic rig and has passed the 9,000km mark by which point most suspension systems fail (apparently) and it's still going...
Once all the testing's finished, MIRA are going to use footage of the testing process for their own promotional purposes.
Sorry this isn't quite as articulate as other reports but I just wanted to get some of the information across.
