What did you think of the Exeter show?

I recon Exeter was a good show. Not as much there as Donnington but it's a smaller venue.
Quality stands though. The Aeon 430 looked pretty damn good and it was nice to see the Cav GT.
Seemed very busy, especially as I was there on Saturday, which I would say is normally the quieter of the 2 days.

I was actually a little disapointed with the show. the cobras were nice but that was about it, nothing grabbed me as much as when i went a few years ago.
People seemed to be enjoying themselves though which is important. I went up to Peninsula to play with some pre-assembled kitcars,I had more fun there.

I thought the show was pretty good tbh. I got in at around 10:15AM and by the time I'd taken a first wander around, a lot of the sales people on the stands had a queue of people waiting to speak to them
I was quite impressed by the RH aluminium chassis for their "Bolteon" kit (had to check the flyer, but that is the correct spelling
). It was extrememly light, perhaps a bit too light given that it is held together only by rivets. Not sure how well it would stand up to regular use on the roads let alone a track, but for £295 it seemed very reasonable.
Really went to look at the 5EXi as Rosie (my fiance) is very keen to get one. The women on the stand got quite flustered when Rosie picked up a price list from the table along with the rest of the leaflets. The price list was hastily grabbed back with a condescending "That's not for you"
. Silly moo shouldn't have left them next to the leaflets then

Emptied my wallet by buying a set of front wishbones and brackets from Luego for my bastardised Locost project (very helpfull staff as well).
The guy doing the stunts outside was pretty good entertainment whilst scoffing an overpriced hot dog and coffee
All in all a good day out.

Yeah, I always fancied going to the Exeter show, but the extreeme distance rules it out, maybe Den can make the Stafford show next spring, I might be able to smuggle him in past the security in disguise telling them he's my elderly grandad.....
Sounds like y'all had funGreat show this year. Even better as I didn't spend much cash either ! - apart from the over-priced burger etc. As ever, some nice cars - could't decide between the Kougar or Gerry's 289FIA. Nice to say hello to Den again after a year or two.
5exi was very interesting - although the middle part of the chassis looked a bit flimsy (what do you lot think ?). Otherwise a great idea - the 'T' series turbo is a wonderful motor (I've got one in an 800 Vitesse) thats been long overdue an appearance in a kit.

It does look very flimsy, and by itself I'm certain it would be. However it looks to me like the roll cage is a substantial structural member, and of vital importance in stiffening the chassis.
That said, I'm sure my over-engineering habit would be telling me to weld some more in if/when I bought one.
