Help locating a Mk1/2 Escort for project
Discussion
This sort of question has popped up before on www.locostbuilders.co.uk and if you are using Uncle Ron's book then all you really need from an escort is the rear axle. The front hubs are from a cortina.
The advice I've seen is to get hold of a cortina instead and then you can use everything from that. A lot of people end up putting spacers on the escort axle so the fact that the cortina is slightly wider means you don't need them.
The only trouble is I do't know where you can buy a cortina either! There are plenty of breakers who advertise in Classic Ford who could be worth a try if you don't want a rusty shell sitting on your driveway.
And finally I've got a spare mk1 escort axle if you want it, only £50
