I've said in the past how much I liked the Gardner Douglas T70 replica, but wished they did the fully enclosed version, well whilst looking on www.totalkitcar.com I noticed this www.bell-performance.co.uk/

I'll start saving now......

Well I wonder if I could fit the Bell T70 body to the GDT70 chassis? Or even just the roof

I know someone else who has the same dream and has asked the same questions!

Andy,

I've just taken a look at your website...... that Cosworth roll is a scary sight!

Are the other Cossie pics "before" or "after" you straightened it all out?

If after, then I'm impressed!

This is/was the car formerly made by GTD of GT40 replica fame, for which Derek Bell of Bell Performance (and no, we're not related) has acted as agent for some years.

The BRG car in the photos is Derek's own car fitted with 500bhp small block Chevy which has seen plenty of track day use. I even got several laps of the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in it (passenger seat only unfortunately) a few years back when doing a write up on it for a US kit car magazine. Very impressive.

They are before and after pics.....
I had to have the crashed car in my garden whilst I built the garage to build the car in (6.5x6.5m double). I then bought an newer shell, stripped it totally and then sprayed it in the new garage........
Oh I had also had to learn how to spray first, but I found buying good quality gear and taking your time on the prep seem to be the secrets to success.

This was what made me realise I wanted to build cars from scratch... certainly more interesting than my day job!

I should really do a bit more with my site....

Makes sense now, I thought someone had made one in the past, I wonder why GD decided to stop? Thanks Graham.

GTD stopped making it because they went bust. It always seemed to play second fiddle to the GT40 anyway and I don't think they ever sold many.

Sorry Graham, that's my fault I got confused between Gardner Douglas (GD) and GTD, although I have to admit I hadn't realised that GTD had gone through.
