Hi,

has anyone actually driven a bike engined car on real roads not jsut track. Are they much fun on the public highway or are they just for tracks.
Is the low torque a real problem?

cheers

I've driven mine quite a bit, and I know of several people who have done 4000 miles or more. There is no problem driving on the road except for the permanant grin

If you want to try one, drop me an email. Or come along to the P2002 tour as on the home page of this site.

I've had my Westfield MegaBusa just over a year and driven more than 4500 miles, 2500 were on the se7ens Euro 2001 tour (France, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium). They are very quick and great handling cars. Forget the issue about low torque - it isn't an issue at all, I can easily drive at below 30mph in 6th gear. The only problem is getting to used to the light on/off clutch and not getting caught going too fast! I warmly recommend them.

I have a locost fitted with a Honda CBR 1000 figures show only about 98BHP but 100% grin factor. This engine doesn't have cat so no problems with all that. Low torque isn't a problem easily plod around town in top. Don't bother with reverse box just think where your parking, and make sure you have a limited slip diff.
