Having read the other topics I thought it wouldbe interesting to find out what kit cars are owned by PH members. I then thought of the following questions:

1) Current Kit - what do you own now?
2) Previous Kits - what have you owned & would you buy another?
3) Next Kit - what are you considering?
4) Dream kit - what you would buy if money were no object?

For me the answers are:
1) Dutton Phaeton (back in kit form)
2) Robin Hood Exmo and no
3) A Cobra replica. Not for a few years but Mrs Bee is willing to help save!
4) An Ultima, by a narrow margin over a GT40 replica.

Your turn!

Peetbee my name answers the first question but if you are in any doubt
1)Triumph based Spartan Paid £200 for someone elses cast off part built. having to strip it down and start again tho
2)No previous Kits
3)not sure fury stylus or LSIS but definately with a bike engine for track day fun keep the Spartan for road use.
4)toss up between ultima and GT40 like you however things may change. Who knows what the future may bring.

Here goes me then Pete,

1. Phanton Vortex GTR

2. Exmo (like you), Jago, Kingfisher Kustom.
wouldn't buy any of them again.

3. Fury to race.

4. GT 40 replica but must say if it handles as I hope the Phantom should be pretty close.

Aprisa I'm jealous I looked at the Phantom drooling. I heard they were looking at using a different engine other than the rover is it true.

1) SSC Stylus - 1800/2000 (Not confirmed) Zetec.
2) Sylva Striker - 1700 X/flow - Bloody fantastic I loved it and would definately have another.
3)Another seven type car.... Probably a Striker again. Maybe a Westie or Caterham, serious road/track car.
4) Ultimate, not sure possibly something like an Ultima GTR, but probably wouldn't I would go for a Porsche, Tiv or similar for that sort of cash!

1)None currently
2)Pilgrim Sumo Mk2 - sold it this summer to pay for house extension
3)A locost variant - build it as cheap as possible, scrounge, beg, borrow etc. Build will appear on madabout-kitcars.com but will have to wait until the house extensions done.
4)That's a tricky one. Always wanted a Ferrari Daytona spyder replica - miami vice black (if anyone remembers that!).

1. Nothing yet - but have lots of brochures, and a large double garage/workshop that looks similar to Mark Evan's "A Bike Is Born" workshop!!

2. Had regular drives in my cousins Westfield if that counts.... wow! Yes I probably would buy/build one, but Mrs Meeja has put her foot down big time on that (She loathes seven style cars!)

3. Torn between a Cobra replica (My choice) and Chesil Speedster (Her choice, although I *do* like them very much!)

4. A "upper end of the market" Cobra replica (I did like the Dave Brookes built Dax with the hardtop at Donington.....)

Meeja if the management doesn't like LSIS why not go for something like a stylus or a fury as I've heard they are basically a seven with full clothing

Because I married a tough cookie!

Although she does like cars, when it comes to the kit-car scene, her tastes are very narrow!

Edited to add:

I forgot that her marriage vows included "What's yours is mine, and what's mine is my own!"

Yes Andy, at present they are developing a turnkey car with the ford Duratec 3ltr, this could of course then be turbo'ed! should be ready in a couple more weeks.

1) I'm looking at the moment. Don't like (or seem to fit in) most '7's. Next problem is budget. Ther's not a lot about in budget builds.

2) Does rebuilding bikes and quads after accidents count?

3) Really fancy a Marlin 5Exi as long as I can find the cash (& my shoulders stay strong enough for the name calling), otherwise it looks like getting someone else's part build or if her in doors has anthing to do with it, it could be a 'Bat'.

4) I jealous of Aprisa as I love the look of the Phantom. Otherwise possibly an 'Attack'. Although speed is required I'd really need to try an Ultima or GT40 as I feel indifferent to their looks.

There's no reason for anyone to be jealous, I only building it to compensate for an incredibly small Willie

Are you on the wrong thread? www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=58774&f=30&h=0

It's still a very nice car. Can you post a pic?

My answers ...

1) Current Kit - Dax Tojeiro with Rover engine
2) Previous Kits - None, the Dax is my first kit car build
3) Next Kit - Changes every week depending on which kit I've been reading about in a mag or on the web! Probably something low cost, light weight. I do quite like the look of the 5EXi.
4) Dream kit - Lambo Miura replica if I could find such a thing.

I would post some pics if I knew how the hell to get them up on my website (bit of an IT Numpty) I have a couple of reasonable shots of the build about a month back if anyone could post them for me?

Am I the only "Kit Person" going to either BTaP or the Caterham Slalom?

Last kit was a Chesil speedster powered by Impreza turbo engine and late model Porsche running gear

I'm currently building a Karmann Ghia with Alfa 33 flat 4

Deposit is down for a GTM Libra that I am building with a VVC (delivery in december!)

Dream kit would be an Ultima!

Oh, all the above are daily drivers, 'practical' cars are not for me!

1) Tiger Super Six - piccy of it (before it was finished, hence the bonnet/nose misalignment) on my profile
2) None - caught the bug from a friend who had 2 GTMs and a Hood in his time.
3&4) Cobra replica I expect (have never really thought about this question too much)
