Hi Den,

Good to see you onboard, I enjoy reading your rantings, you may remember me writing to you personally a few weeks ago re "Bomber Harris".

Anyhow, to the point I was wondering how you got started in this business years ago?, you mentioned you ran Kit car International years back ( didn't they have an address in Disley, Cheshire once?), also how did you get into Pilgrim, I mean did you start the company, or what, sorry to be so nosy, but I am just curious that's all....

Do you want the long answer, the very long answer or the very, very long answer.

BTW. I thought your point regarding Churchill/Harris was a good one (as was your more serious point). I nearly published it in the letters section. Interested to know why I didn't?

Ok! But I can’t do it straight away on account of my falling behind with my work.

I’ll do it as a part-work if that’s Ok with you. First part dealing with formation of Pilgrim on 1st February 1985 with a brief CV up till then. Then the first 7 years of Pilgrim in episode 2. Is that Ok, or shall I go direct to part 2?

It’ll be a boring , but that’ll serve you right for being “just a nosy buggar

Because I didn’t dare – wot with the criticism I’ve already had. I thought it best not to publish any letters this month . I had some really good factual stuff too! Real accounts from real people as to how they claim to have been variously misled, fobbed-off and ripped-off . Yours was rather more interesting than informative – if you get my drift. But how would it have gone down?

I’ve got the Dave Pepper story in the bag. I’ve recruited a correspondent in Sri Lanka who has information from the land of “Monty Python”. A chap with an entertaining story as to how he fears I’m as bad as Fib’s, plus a bundle of other genuinely informative or entertaining stuff on or connected to this subject. However, it seems that readers (on this forum at least) only want to read pleasant platitudes about ‘nice’ things.

Having said this, I’m not going to simply roll-over. It’s in nobody’s interest to have Kit Car published by a spineless Muppet IMHO. So, I’m going to appeal the verdict that I’ve been unprofessional by arguing that not only is exposure of malpractice part of my job, but my failure to do so would be unprofessional. I’m going to fight fire with fire.

Again, ‘cos I don’t want to upset anybody, I’ll reiterate that I accept that I’ve said too much, in too many places and I’ve put it badly too (in places). My point is that the baby shouldn’t be thrown out with the bathwater. I’ll get off my for now.

Cheers

Den

Well Den, I'm all .

I reckon the best place to start is right at the very beginning, and work forwards. I hope it doesn't send you to doing all this , but reckon the reason you are falling behind with your work is 'cos you are spending too much bloody time on this forum.

btw. thanks for the

Hey Den,

When you decide to your life's history, make sure it's accurate cos' I reckon you are lying about your age. I well remember you appearing in "Coronation Street" as a tearaway teenager in the early sixties, when I was a big fan of your mums Elsie...

As it happens, you can thank Coronation Street and the Beano for my preferred name being Den rather than Dennis.

Seems that you're giving your age away. Did you know Bomber Harris personally?

Errr, no, but I knew his great grandad, he used to play in the same footie team as me at school.
