I wonder if the builder was a person of the rather short persuasion? Reason being that I notice that the distance from the cockpit to the rear of the engine (which is normally all that is available for legroom) is very short, whereas the distance from the front of the engine to the front axle is much greater. This is most unusual for any front engine rwd car.
Paul Gibbs owned Wisbeech engineering and was a master engineer. Over the years since the 80s he did work on many high end cars in the custom world. One of the key things were that I never saw a single car the wasn't fully drivable and finished with style but superb engineering. I was sad to find out he died last year but if his kids are half as good as he was they will still produce some exeptional work.
That is a beautifully built car, but I am struggling to see how its based on a Bentley MkVI chassis. It was sold at Bonhams a while ago and the page is still up at

The work is exceptional, just look at it!
I imagine by "based on" they mean he used some of the suspension components, because if you read the write up, it has a modern Bentley engine, a space frame chassis and an aluminium rear axle....

I am guessing it would need an IVA and I very much doubt it would be entitled to its original reg no. due to the fact it dosn't appear to have the requisite 8 points, based on chassis, steering, suspension engine gearbox. Maybe I am missing something, but MKVI chassis is a big solid boxy thing with cross bracing, and I don't see it there. It states that the engine is not original, nor the back axle and it has a space frame chassis.

It's been around since at least 2008, so pre-IVA. Do we know whe it was actually built? Replacing the engine after registration wouldn't require a new SVA or IVA.Edited by Astacus on Monday 22 April 16:52
