Ginetta G31 advice
Discussion
Hi, I might be looking at a G31 this weekend and was wondering if anyone could give me any more info about them.
I believe it's Cortina based and this one has a 2litre Pinto under the bonnet. But any more info would be appreciated, especially what they are like to live with on a daily basis.
Many thanks
Pete

Quite right, they're based on the Mk 3/4/5 Cortina and use a variation of a ladder frame chassis, with suspension carried straight over from donor Ford. Pretty hefty that chassis, and if galvanised should last for ages.
Not much room in the back, but otherwise shouldn't be any more difficult to live with on daily basis that a Cortina. Just watch out for camshaft rattles and knackered void bushes in the rear suspension (though you can replace these with urethane ones which will improve the handling anyway). Other thing to watch for are the doors, which being from a Fiesta are steel and so go rusty.
