Anyone know how a normal Caterham (i.e. not wide bodied) and a normal pre-lit (1990) Westie match up in the cockpit area ? i.e. are they the same width and length in the cabin ?

My Westie is 36" wide inside the cockpit, with 15" from the side walls to the transmission tunnel.

Thanks !

My understanding is that pre-lit Westfield’s were IDENTICAL to Caterham’s, which caused the litigation in the first place.

I guess that answers your question – but I’m not 100% certain.

my pre lit westfield is precisely the same dimensions as a Caterham/Lotus Seven. Yes, I have measured it!

I could be wrong, but my Westfield was a 1989 and that was post litigation with the fibreglass body.

Pre-lit cars are ali skinned and 1988 ish or earlier.

So if yours is pre lit and ali skinnd, it's earlier than 1990

On the other hand if it is 1990 and has the fibreglass body, it's not a pre lit.

Neville says (no internet access) : "Okay, sorry, I've got my pre-lit / non pre-lit mixed up there, she's a non pre-lit fibreglass car. However my question still stands, how does this car (36" from wall to wall inside the cockpit) compare to a non widebody Caterham of round about the same age (give or take) .... could someone quickly measure their car for me please ?
Thanks ! Nev"
