Ihave a rover v8 sd1 engine, question is what other dizzy will fit, asI want to do away with the ballast resistor set up . My dizzy has two wires coming from it,one red and black and one white. Will the dizzy from the p6 fit or is there an easier solution.

Why do you want to change, is there something wrong with your current distributor? What's wrong with having a ballast resistor though?

If you're after a good reliable distributor that will give a nice strong spark why not go for an aftermarket one like a Mallory?

I fitted a Mallory dual point distributor to the SD1 engine in my kit car and it transformed the way the engine ran. I think my old distributor had been on its way out for a while and the engine was way down on power without me realising until started to really run rough. The couple of hundred quid and couple of hours the swap took was a good investment!
