Any decent garages in the stockport area?
Discussion
My car is a panther kallista (not a kit car, but nearly). Its mostly made up of ford bits (granada engine, capri axel, cortina sub frame suspension etc).
I dont know that much about cars so i cant really do anything serious - tho i am trying to learn (changed the thermostat, set the timming etc - we all have to start somewhere.
I originally assumed that any monkey could work on but a local garrage (birdhall lane, stockport) proved me wrong :|
The water pump went and they screwed it up (including sealing up most of the thermosat in/out pipes with sealent - hence one very over heating car) apparently it takes over a week to get the correct thermomsat... bollocks
Then I was going to use the local ford dealer (atlantic ford) but they charge £75 per hour! and claim it takes 1hr to fit a set of plugs/leads (GF took her car in for a service, then phoned and asked me if the price was ok... i phoned back and siad sod off).
Last car i had was a lotus so most of the garages i used where quite expensive and this car is so basic... but if the worst comes to the worst they can do this one as well.
So, can anyone recomend a garage in the Stockport / Cheadle / Gatley area ?

so its made from a capri,a granada and a cortina.real pedigree
but capri axle is go0d for a couple of trips to the moon and back b4 it needs maintanece, the cortina(dagenham dustbin)front end while a bit heavy is all quite simple and diy spanner work to fix.but what granada engine? as over the years they had a 2.0in line 4,a 2.0 v4,a 2.3,2.5,2,8,3.0 carb v6 ,2.4,2.8,2.9 fuel injected v6,also 24v 2.9 inj v6 lets not talk diesel ok

You could maybe try Ric Wood:

He knows his way around Ford engines apparently.

My friend has recommended K+N or K+S, can't remember. They're under the viaduct on Heaton Lane, stocky, just over from Kwik Fit behind the Crown. He used to get his Audi Coupe serviced there.
Sorry, don't know of any others around that way.

I think they're really good, but they can be quite expensive
