Phil,

definately looks a lot like the strathcarron from the rear. I quite like it, should sell well depending on power source......

This car was on the Marlin stand at Stoneleigh and looked great. It was mobbed in crowds all day. I think with the car based on a cheap readily available single donor, the light weight and above all the looks, they are on to a winner.

If I didn't already have a backlog of projects I'd be placing an order!

Nothing really wrong with the 2.0Litre turbo? Anyway, if that will fit, then something like a Zetec or a 20XE is bound to be able to be squeezed in

I know everyone has opinions, but I couldn't believe how much they vary....my opinion....windscreen forward nice.....windscreen back awful....

the car is incredibly similar, as noted above and on that forum, to the Strathcarron SC5-A.

Mikeylad, glad you enjoyed it.....it is a good forum, especially if you want to do it yourself for the least cost, even if you want something other than "seven" style (which I obviously did).....that forum and this one are by far my two favourite ones....it is very interesting though to compare views now and then..

The 2.0 turbo units are more unreliable than the k-series. Head gaskets as per k-series, plus exhaust manifolds, piston rings (their based on the old L-series). valve guides all sorts of stuff.

Thought it was a T series?

It is but the basic engine is based on the old L-series from the montego, the M16 (it's naturally aspirated brother/sister (take your pick)) it the same engine with a twin cam 16valve head, the T-series has some minor modifications to turbocharge it, but it's still the same crappy old montego engine!

Ahh, never really been into the modern Rover engines, the A series was best by far The Honda 1.6 lump which was used in the 200 series was reasobale though wasn't it?

yeah had one of them 216gsi, nice car, had done 129,000 and was sweet as a nut, until some moron ran into it! doh!
