Assuming you mean ignition timing rather than cam timing here Nev. In absence of any specific info from cam/engine manufacturers I'd say just stick with the standard timing setting (8 degree BTDC from memory) until you can get it run in and set up on a rolling road.

Ah yes, I do mean ignition timing. I think people are coming up with 6-10 degrees as a good starting point, so it sounds like you're right ...
